5 Furniture Manufacturer Trends For 2018
'Sexy curves are in too, giving furniture an irresistibly comfortable aesthetic' oooh errr 😛
Here at My Tool Kit, we have been investigating design ideas which are likely to be on trend this year. Passing them on will hopefully be of some help with your business planning.
For Furniture Manufacturers everywhere, it’s time to start planning for the year ahead, and as 2017 concluded the big trends for 2018 had already started forming in designer’s minds. Here are just a few of the trends that we expect to see a lot of this coming year.
Warm, earthy tones
The neutral palettes of last season are gone when it comes to big pieces of furniture and in 2018 we expect to see a lot of warm, earthy tones making a statement. From clay and terracotta to browns and rusts, we will be seeing a lot of reds and browns in the next few months.
Fringing
When kept to a minimum, fringing will be seen everywhere in 2018 in the form of a few choice touches to add a bit of class and sophistication to sofas and tables. Think 1950’s glamour and a touch of class
Plump and comfortable
Gone are the days of sparse, hard furniture, and this year will see more plump, voluptuous pieces becoming extremely popular, especially in the form of daybeds and other statement pieces. Sexy curves are in too, giving furniture an irresistibly comfortable aesthetic.
Gold
Sorry copper, but gold is the new popular metal finish in town, and we are looking forward to seeing a lot of beautiful little gold accents on furniture in 2018. From chair legs and frames to table trims and drawer handles, gold is a timeless addition to any piece of furniture.
Suede and velvet
Luxurious, soft and comfortable, suede and velvet as materials for chairs and sofas will fit right in with the plump and voluptuous and 1950’s style trends that will be popular next year. Add a bit of fringing and some gold trim and you will be bang on trend for 2018.
