We often get customers phone in to say that the driver blade is pushing out of the nose from the tool. They often think that they should grind it back.
Caution! Don’t do THAT … as it could be a broken bumper.
1 - The cap can be easily removed with a spanner. On some tools this could be 4 bolts
2 - See inside cylinder and driver assembly. Just tap on a piece of wood to remove as sometimes they can be a little stiff
3 - There it is its out!
,,
4 - There's the piston driver and the bumper. You will now be able to see what the problem is.
Problem = solution!
The bumper inside could be broken up, causing the driver blade to push out further and could cause damage to your materials.
Simply:
- Clean out rubber break-up and debris
- Replace the bumper
- Oil the tool
- Put it all back together
- You’re ready to go!
